Sergeant - Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve - 425 RCAF Sqdn 15 June 1944 , aged 21 Born in approx 1923 Son of Doris Lilian Adams, of Doncaster, Yorkshire. The crew had all survived when Halifax LW413 had to be abandoned out of fuel over Staffordshire Marquise Communal Cemetery Halifax LW715 coded KW-O airborne from Tholthorpe 20:45 15 June 44 tasked to attack enemy shipping in Boulogne Harbour. Cause of loss not established. Crashed at Devres (Pas-de- Calais) 20 km SE of Boulogne. All seven crew managed to abandon the aircraft, but two airmen were killed, shot while descending by parachute. |
